| Getting Here |
GETTING HERE & AROUNDKelvin Grove Village is only 2 kilometres from central Brisbane, and with links to the city-centre and inner-urban suburbs by roads, walkways and cycle-paths it's easy to access no matter what your choice of transport. PEDESTRIANS & CYCLISTSThe streets of the Village have been designed with pedestrians and cyclists in mind. You can walk to all key areas of the Village within 10 minutes, reducing reliance on car travel. Several streets in the Village have been designed to reduce slope inclines making walkways accessible. The main street has wide footpaths and shaded seating areas. Well-lit walkways are connected to other pedestrian links to Brisbane's inner northern suburbs. Throughout the Village there is a safe, direct network of on and off-road cycle paths. On-road lanes are provided on larger roads, while on smaller road with less traffic, bikes can safely travel without a designated lane. Off-road bike paths through parkland and shared with pedestrians. PUBLIC TRANSPORTWalkways through the Village connect with the Inner Northern Busway. There is also a walkway from Victoria Park Road through the Village to an upgraded bus stop on Kelvin Grove Road, serviced by buses to the city. Crossing via existing lights on Kelvin Grove Road give access to bus stops on the Red Hill side of Kelvin Grove Road. You can buy and top up go cards at two retailers on site at Kelvin Grove Village. TRANSPORT LINKSLegacy Way (formerly Northern Link Road Tunnel) is a proposed five kilometre underground toll road linking the Western Freeway adjacent to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Toowong with the Inner City Bypass at Kelvin Grove. Legacy Way will provide an underground motorway link between Brisbane's western and inner northern suburbs, linking employment and growth areas. By completing the missing link in the motorway standard road network, Legacy Way will re-distribute through-traffic from local, suburban and arterial roads onto motorway-standard roads.
