Indigo has received the green light from the Brisbane City Council
to begin work on The Village Centre, its landmark residential and
commercial precinct at the heart of the Village. The Design Approval
for the project came through on 16 July and Indigo is likely to
begin on-site construction in August this year. A selection of
one, two and three-bedroom apartments are now available from $290,000.
A sales suite showcasing The Village Centre will be open at Kelvin
Grove Urban Village in early September. For more information about
The Village Centre, contact Indigo on (07) 3830 1000 or info@indigogroup.com.au. |

The Kelvin Grove Urban Village has a brand new website, with a new
design, new features and more information.
The latest news appears on the home page so it is easy to keep
up with developments at the Village. The website also has more
photographs, depicting actual sites and locations that are for
sale or under development, as well as completed projects such
as the Creative Industries Precinct.
Potential residents can read about the benefits of living there
in the “Living in the Village” section, which also
has information about the residential projects currently underway.
Developers, planners and designers can use the “Development
Opportunities” section to access the Design Guidelines
for the Village and register interest in any sites for sale.
The new website is expected to be an excellent resource for
students, with an increasing number of schools and universities
incorporating the Village into their curriculum for subject areas
ranging from art and geography at school through to architecture
and urban planning at university.

Here is a brief update on recent developments at the Village:
QUT's $50 million Institute of Health and Biomedical
Innovation (on Lot 25) is now under construction. Queensland
Premier Peter Beattie officially turned the first sod in a
ceremony on 5 July 2004.
The landscaping and shade structures in
the northern parade ground have now been completed. Named Parer Place after the renowned war photographer Damian Parer, this public park is surrounded by Creative Industries
Precinct buildings.
Work is underway on an outdoor lift giving
public access from Musk Avenue up to the Terrace area of the
Creative Industries Precinct (and La Boite's Roundhouse
Theatre). The lift is due for completion in September this
year. |

The Royal Queensland Show kicks off on 5 August, and the Kelvin
Grove Urban Village will feature prominently in the Queensland Government
Pavilion, which attracts around 170,000 visitors during the 10-day

once all developments are completed.
