KGUV GETS NEW DIRECTION l You may have noticed some new directional signage erected on Hale Street and at McCaskie Park which are promoting the Kelvin Grove Urban Village. Indigo instigated this clever concept two years ago to promote the Village Centre. Since then it has taken some design deliberation and the support of major Village stakeholders QUT and the Department of Communities to see this project through. These signs are a welcome and greatly needed addition, highlighting the Village offering and encouraging motorists to make a detour to investigate this hidden gem. The Kelvin Grove Urban Village Business Association is a great way to get involved in project like these. For more information about the Association contact Martha at KDPR on 3136 2555. |

MOVIES IN THE PARK WRAP UP l Families from across Brisbane converged on Kulgun Park at the Kelvin Grove Urban Village to make the most of a fun night out under the stars for the free 'Movies in the Park' on Saturday 19 September. The event, sponsored by the Kelvin Grove Urban Village Business Association, was a great success with the first family setting up camp at 5.15pm for the 6.30pm commencement of popular movie musical Mamma Mia. The popcorn and fairy floss carts were also a favourite amongst the young and young at heart with funds going back to the Business Association to fund more exciting events in the Village. Watch this space for upcoming events and activities planned for the Village. |

Staff at the Blood Service launched the Cycle4Life campaign on 4-5 September by embarking on a 200km cycle, stopping at eight blood donor centres along the way. The Cycle4Life campaign invites cyclists from all over Queensland to cycle 200km over the month of September and collect pledges to donate blood from friends and family in an effort to reach goals, gain rewards and save lives. Whether you accumulate the kilometres by riding to and from work or during a spin class, the campaign will work in conjunction with promoting health and wellbeing and the need for blood.
